50-60s

In the postwar years, TMI training was rebuilt in a peaceful way.

The 19th Party Congress (1952) decided to increase the graduation of higher education specialists by about half and improve the quality of their training.
Faculties moved to new curricula, increased training periods.

The library fund in the years 50-60 received the works of outstanding TMI scientists: Poizner B.S. Rogacheva V.S., Serebrova V.T., Goldberg DI, Goldberg DI, Yablokova DD, Vengova Erovsky I.S., Savinykh A.G., Shubina N.V., Albitsky V.A., Shershevsky V.M. et al.

One of the first library workers, bibliographer Fedyushin Vasily Semenovich, was awarded the “Excellence in Healthcare” badge in 1957. Until now, this is the only library employee to receive such an award. Vasily Semenovich was an outstanding person with a unique memory, a very broad outlook, he perfectly knew the fund not only by the names of books, but also by the content of each book. “The students called him” library brownie, “as he was in the library for days, loved him very much, treated him to pies…” (from the memoirs of Professor A.I. Ryzhov)

According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education (No. 252 of 29. X.59) in the early 60s, TMI introduced bibliographic classes from I to IV courses at all faculties.

Starting in November 1965, the library held Information Days weekly on Thursdays, which were real book holidays.

The TMI newspaper “For Medical Personnel” of the 19th 60s has notes on the work of the library.

In the article “The House Where You Draw Knowledge” dated February 8, 1966, in an interview with the library director about the work of the reading room, you can read: “The reading room during the session is open from 10.00 to 22.00 seven days a week & # 8230; The hall is only 250 seats small, and at least 700 people visit it during the session per day…. “

The note “Library to the Lenin Komsomol” (October 1968) lists the names of book exhibitions characteristic of those years for the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol: “We were driven by youth,” “Komsomol 60s,” “Our Komsomol,” “In the battles for the Motherland.”

The book stock in the 60s was already about 380 thousand copies.

The library has grown to 23 employees.

The library was headed in the 1950-60 by:
Guselnikova Maria Vasilievna was the director of the library from 1948 to 1961.

Since 1963, for 20 years, the director of the library was Alekseevskaya Maria Afanasyevna.
